Kylie is living with her husband, Andy, and three small children in Sydney's Greater West. Together they serve with the saints at Campsie Chinese Congregational Church, where Andy is the pastor of the English-speaking youth service. Amidst the many joys and challenges of life, she is constantly reminded that Jesus is himself—the living, sovereign Lord of all, working his gracious plans out in the lives of schmucks like us. She is also really thankful for Rooibos tea!

Is Christianity a tribe?

July 3, 2019July 2, 2019 by Kylie Yip

What’s a tribe?  Well, whenever a woman tells me she studied Science, Engineering or Maths at university, and I reply that I too studied Engineering, there’s a moment of “aha…!”. Suddenly the relationship becomes more open as there’s…

Listening: why it matters and why it’s hard

March 24, 2019March 24, 2019 by Kylie Yip

“Australians,” quoted our chaplain, “spend the second half of your sentence thinking of an answer to the first half”. Well, I think, I’m a good listener, at any rate. I never—oh, wait, were you still talking? There are many times…

Teaching wisdom to our children

January 1, 2019December 18, 2018 by Kylie Yip

“A foolish son is a grief to his fatherand bitterness to her who bore him” (Prov 17:25) Too many of us know this pain first hand—the pain of watching your child make choices that are rightly theirs to make, but that you know will not end well.…

About the Australian Church Record

The Australian Church Record is an evangelical newspaper in the Reformed Anglican tradition of the historic creeds and the 39 Articles of Faith, and the standard of teaching and practice in the Book of Common Prayer. We accept the Scriptures as God’s word written, and as containing all things necessary for salvation and the final authority in all matters of faith and behaviour.
